The space that houses Lift Yoga + Strength might look vaguely familiar, even if you’re a first-time visitor. Its vaulted ceilings, massive windows, and dangling chandeliers hint at the building’s former life as a church. After it had fallen into disrepair, Lift’s owners breathed new life into the edifice by clearing out the clutter and installing glossy hardwood floors.
Those floors are where yogis come to lay their mats and find calm after a long day. Lift’s roster of teachers consists of yoga-loving athletes who use the practice to not only build strength in their pupils, but also to heal and quiet the mind. In addition to the yoga classes, the studio also hosts high-intensity group fitness classes, a mix of functional exercises and strength-training that changes on a daily basis.
